Around Sri Lanka

Once you get down at the airport, our tour guide will welcome you warmly to Sri Lanka, to the splendid land where your adventure is all set to begin. Afterwards, he will accompany you to the hotel where you will spend the overnight stay. Once you check-in and relax, you can also engage in a tour of the Colombo city where you will be able to witness the urban life of the island and do some shopping as your preference.

Next day, early in the morning you will be headed to the sacred city of Anuradhapura, which is identified to be the first ever kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka. An assortment of architectural and archaeological wonders awaits you there. Gigantic dagobas, statues and historic temples are a customary sight of this city and most importantly, Anuradhapura is a UNESCO world heritage site.

En route to Anuradhapura, you will also be able to visit the Wilpattu National park. The significance of this park is the availability of “Willus”, which stand for natural lakes. In addition, a range of endemic and vital flora and fauna are found within this terrain. A safari through the park may bring you closer to the beauty of the exotic nature.

The next destination is Trincomalee, a port city in the North-eastern coast of Sri Lanka. The white sandy beaches there are ideal spots for relaxation. In addition, you can experience the Hindu culture of this destination by a visit to the Koneshwaram kovil located on Swami Rock cliff, which is a popular point for blue-whale watching.
Polonnaruwa is the second ancient kingdom of Sri Lanka and is also identified as a UNESCO World heritage site. The architectural and archaeological wonders of the Polonnaruwa period which contain an infusion of both the Buddhist and Hindu cultures can be seen here. The largest man-made reservoir in Sri Lanka, namely Parakrama Samudraya can also be witnessed. The vast beauty of this cultural paradise may leave you in awe.

The next destination will be Sigiriya, yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is ancient rock fortress situated near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province. The ancient architectural wit, giant ponds, frescoes, mirror wall are particular attractions you will be able to witness here. The hike is a mild toil and therefore the summit can be reached by little effort through some flight of stairs. At the top, a lavish view of the surrounding can be seen.

After the hike to Sigiriya, you will then be headed for a relaxing experience to be embraced by the nature. Next in Dambulla, you will be accompanied to visit a spice garden. The local spices which enhance the Sri Lankan cuisine will be introduced to you.

The overnight stay will be scheduled in Kandy and thus, at night you can stroll around the sacred city of Kandy and also engage in shopping.

En route to Nuwaraeliya you will visit Hunnasgiriya waterfall. It is a picturesque waterfall which falls in two sections. The trek falls through a foot path between a natural backdrop. Once you reach the waterfall, it is guaranteed that you will be mesmerized by its beauty.

Afterwards, you will be headed to Nuwaraeliya for an overnight stay. Nuwaraeliya consists of mild climatic conditions and lush greenery of huge trees and tea estates.


Horton plains

Next day early in the morning, you will be escorted to Horton plains, a national park of Sri Lanka situated in the central highlands which is also a UNESCO world heritage site. The mild weather and the beauty of nature in its purest form are sure to charm you. The typical mammals, large herds of Sri Lankan sambar deer, can be witnessed here and the park is also a vital bird area with various species not only endemic to Sri Lanka but restricted to the Horton Plains. Amongst the numerous flora and fauna, water ways and falls, World’s end is yet another attraction which will entice you.

It is the time for a once in a life time sort of train ride; the world famous train tour to Ella will present you with breath taking views of lavish mountain ranges and beautiful greenery on the sides of the train tracks. This is probably one of the most greenish train rides in the world collaborated with nature, that you will ever experience.


Ella - Haputhale

After the train ride, you will be then guided to the wonderful town of Haputale, found in the Badulla district. It consists of a cool climate and would welcome you with a refreshing breeze. There are numerous places of interest within Haputhale such as Lipton’s seat, Adisham Bungalow, Diyaluma and Bambarakanda Falls and Soragune Devalaya which will provide you with an assortment of experiences while fascinating you at the same time.
Yala national park is the second largest and the most visited national park of Sri Lanka. It consists of a variety of eco-systems and wildlife, bird species, reptiles and amphibians endemic to Sri Lanka are found here. It is also one of the destinations with world’s largest density of leopards. Yala will give you an exotic experience amidst the greenery and the beasts of the wild.
